Car boot sales.

Following on from bigmammas Q about collecting things, have you ever done a car boot sale. What is the strangest thing you have bought or sold. Mine is a box full of door knobs. Mr puss once worked in a factory making pine furniture and there was a box of odd door knobs given to him, these knobs lived in a box for months if not years. We put them in a car boot sale when we were having a clear out, we had to fight the punters off it was door knobs at dawn. What are your experiences of these sales ??

I went to some several years back when I wanted to offload some stuff but I don't really like them I don't like it that as soon as you arrive and open your car you are surrounded by people wanting to see what there is. Having said that some people will buy anything as your experience with the door knobs has proved.
somebody tried to buy my flask of soup once, I only put it on the table for a second while I sorted out my sarnies!
try not to buy anything at the boots, as I'm trying to get rid of my junk, but I do collect 50s, 60s, and 70s costume jewellry brooches, you know the tacky gaudy ones, I've picked up a few of those at boots, last time I went I got 2 beautifull 1930s hand painted mirrors, one half moon shape and the other octagonal...still havn't hung them up in the loo though!.....

When my dog was just a couple of months old and an adorable black andrex puppy looking dog I was getting a drink from the kiosk . When I walked away I noticed some people cooing and awwing , only to notice my dog had taken a huge teddy off the stall next to the kiosk , out of a box on the floor, and was blatently walking off with the mouthful. :-)
