Got worse. Very bad. Diagnosed with, "Perthes" disease, loss of blood flow to the hip joint, softens the bone, lots of pain. Four major operations later, and he is seventeen next month, and he still has pain. He was at the hospital yesterday to assist the student doctors, as his last operation was something never done before, and they wanted to use him to help train doctors.
Meanwhile, his education has suffered, he has hardly any qualifications and his future is very bleak.
Hip replacement when he is in his forties is the next step - no pun intended.

My saddest times were:
When my Dad died in 1994.
When my Mum died in 1996.
When my eldest sister Amy had a heart attack & died instantly on Christmas day 2005. It was a terrible shock for all us nine younger siblings.
When our darling Grandson James was born in 1991 with lots of health problems. We were told that he may not live to see his 2nd birthday & it was the most devastating time of our lives. BUT, he is still with us, is reasonably well & celebrated his 16th birthday in July this year.
Another sad time was when our cat Smudge was put to sleep (aged 13 yrs) - she was a wonderful companion. Also the other cats that we have lost, 'specially little Timmy.

my fathers death ..... it was at 8pm christmas eve 2005. i was at his bedside (the only one) when it happened. i have still not recovered from it. also, the family had to make the difficult decision of not telling the children until boxing day - in order not to spoil their christmas . on the day we just said that grandad was feeling more ill than normal (he died of cancer) and had decided to stay at home and sleep
Oh, my God, you guys - you've all made me cry! I feel for all of you.
