LOT to the rescue! if you want to make new friends you simply have to put yourself "out there" join some clubs, anything is possible from martial arts to cookery classes.

Or you could take the more modern option and join up to a social networking sight like myspace or facebook, personaly i prefer myspace. Then just add people who have similar intrests to you. You will of course need to get chatting online to these people first.

And to prove it can be done if prety much shifted my entire social circle through myspace. I've now got a load more friends who are really accepting of me and im now going out with one of them =]

www.hotornot.com is a good one. I have met a few nice girls and made online friends there. Its quite cheap as well and you only need 1 person to have membership to reply to messages.
