There is a shampoo which you can buy over the counter at any chemist, Just ask the chemist, they're very discreet.
You'll be surprised just how common headlice is, so don't feel too embarrassed about it!
Don't keep using treatments - they are pesticides. You need to get the help of someone else to comb your hair through everyday with a lice comb until your clear the live nits, eggs/shells out of your hair. Keep doing this until all the live lice have gone. You might want to try using lots of conditioner on your hair (the lice find it harder to grip) and tea tree shampoo worked a treat with my little boy. I also put mousse or gel on his hair every morning to ward them off. Have a look at http://www.headlice.org/ or http://www.medinfo.co.uk/conditions/headlice.html
There is an overnight shampoo you can get from any chemist (I think it's about 10) which is really good. You wash your hair with it, but don't rinse it, wrap it in a towel, and then 12 hours later just wash it out. If you do it at night, you can just go to sleep and wash it out in the morning. Then comb your hair to get rid of the dead stuff. It smells pretty vile, but it works and is more reliable than the regular shampoo.
The exactly correct solution is to wet your hair and comb through heaps of conditioner and leave it on, I does work 100%. (Any conditioner.)
if any of the above aren't any good for you,try washing your hair with tea tree shampoo then rinse it out and smother your hair in vinegar!rinse out really well or you'll stink!!!have used this on my kiddies and it really works.
chilliwitch is right(not sure about the vinegar though!) I've used tea tree shampoo on my kids after using a Derbac comb to get rid of them and the tea tree shampoo seems to work though it can be a little expensive.
Use mayonaise in your hair leave it in over night if you can it sofficates them then use a good lice comb where the teeth are very close together.Use this treatment once a week and let someone else use the lice comb in your hair.Rinse your hair in lemon juice afterwards
