What are your opinions on answering your partners mobile if they are not there and it is ringing? Are you invading their privacy? Should they not bother as they should have nothing to hide? What do you think?
Interesting. I have no problem with my wife answering my mobile, although it rarely rings, and I would pronbably ask before answering hers, because she may see it as in invasion of privacy, even though I am sure she has nothing to hide. I do prefer to open my own letters, although i have nothing to hide, it's just a respect for privacy thing.
Unlike other phone calls, you can be all but certain who the call is meant for. I would not aswer anybody else's mobile phone unless the person had asked me to beforehand.
for what it's worth - we will answer each others phones if the caller id shows up and we know who it is; mutual friend etc. It's cheaper than calling voicemail to retrieve any messages!
me and my partner would both answer each other's mobile as it normally has the caller ID coming up, we've nothing to hide and as much as we respect each others privacy we don't feel it's an invasion at all. As for mail, I don't open his and vice versa. I guess it's because a phone ringing prompts you to automatically answer it.
I won't answer my bf's mobile unless he's specifically asked me to and I wouldn't expect him to answer mine either. After all, the person calling wants the owner of the phone, and if that person dosen't pick up they can always leave a msg/text/try again later.
its got nought to do with whether your with someone or not, trust blablabla me and my friends will answer anyone's fone. the person on the other end would rather speak to someone who knows where the owner is than leav a msg or wait for fone to ring off.
Only if they are driving or waiting for an important call or of course they ask you to - otherwise whoever it is will leave a message, and why would you need to answer it for any other reason?!!
I like the story about the chap who noticed his girfriends mobile was two hours ahead - so he reset the time. This happened again a few days later so he quizzed her about it and she admittd that she had done this deliberately. When asked why she explained that on her tarif cheap calls started at 6:00 pm so by doing this she beleived she could use the phone earlier in the day and only get charged the cheap rate!
I am not in a relationship at the moment so my answer is purely hypothetical, however... I was going to say, just answer it, your partner may be glad the call didn't go by unanswered but I then thought, hang on, why should the caller have to pay these exhorbitant prices just to learn what he/she would have found out anyway had you let it ring off (ie, the intended recipient is unavailable!). I say let them call back, it's better for all concerned!
I'm only 16 but I think that some people would still be annoyed if your parter answered your mobile and it was like your work boss or one of your mates... I wouldn't like it, would she like me to answer her calls?
surely you remember the days of landlines, when the phone would ring and it could be for any one of a number of people in the house - we never had any problems with answering calls we weren't expecting to be for us then! It's not even remotely as invasive as opening someone's mail (forbidden) as the caller can choose how much info to share with you the mesage taker, or even whether to open their mouth at all!
You should absolutely not answer anyone's mobile but your own. A mobile phone is a personal item. Would you read a letter addressed to your partner? The answer should be no. If it is, you should not answer their phone either.
