What are your opinions on answering your partners mobile if they are not there and it is ringing? Are you invading their privacy? Should they not bother as they should have nothing to hide? What do you think?

I have no problem with my wife answering my mobile, although it rarely rings, and I would pronbably ask before answering hers, because she may see it as in invasion of privacy, even though I am sure she has nothing to hide. I do prefer to open my own letters, although i have nothing to hide, it's just a respect for privacy thing.
me and my partner would both answer each other's mobile as it normally has the caller ID coming up, we've nothing to hide and as much as we respect each others privacy we don't feel it's an invasion at all. As for mail, I don't open his and vice versa. I guess it's because a phone ringing prompts you to automatically answer it.
I like the story about the chap who noticed his girfriends mobile was two hours ahead - so he reset the time. This happened again a few days later so he quizzed her about it and she admittd that she had done this deliberately. When asked why she explained that on her tarif cheap calls started at 6:00 pm so by doing this she beleived she could use the phone earlier in the day and only get charged the cheap rate!
I am not in a relationship at the moment so my answer is purely hypothetical, however... I was going to say, just answer it, your partner may be glad the call didn't go by unanswered but I then thought, hang on, why should the caller have to pay these exhorbitant prices just to learn what he/she would have found out anyway had you let it ring off (ie, the intended recipient is unavailable!). I say let them call back, it's better for all concerned!
surely you remember the days of landlines, when the phone would ring and it could be for any one of a number of people in the house - we never had any problems with answering calls we weren't expecting to be for us then! It's not even remotely as invasive as opening someone's mail (forbidden) as the caller can choose how much info to share with you the mesage taker, or even whether to open their mouth at all!
