drug taking?

i was just reading panic buttons thread regarding injecting drugs and it got me thinking?

lets say the person involved is a heroin addict and they got locked in a room to do cold turkey, how long roughly would they have to stay locked up?

Im not sure how long it would take but there is a risk of dying doing it this way.

I think it depends on how addicted you are, the heart rate increases when the drug is removed suddenly so I would imagine it could cause heart failure. I am sure there are others who know for definite though. It is probably the side effects of the lack of the drug that could cause death.

This website states that the cold turkey symptoms (aches, shakes, sweats, pains, diahorrea, hallucinations, etc) last between 4-days.

My friend locked her son in for 7 days ,he cleaned up for a while but had no counselling so is now back on it .
