I had a gift voucher given to me for christmas for 45 and i am wanting to treat myself to a new perfume. I only usually wear one (which i have worn all my life!) but would like to try something new for the new year. Can anyone give me some help on this? thanks
Without knowing which smells you like it'll be a bit
difficult :-)
Why don't you pop into Boots and have a squirt of their testers? Give it a couple of hours after testing before deciding which one you like before buying.
I've always worn Giorgio for years but my daughter-in-law bought me a different perfume. It was Givenchy Very Irresistible. It's something I wouldn't have bought myself but having tried it, it's lovely. So much so, I've bought another lot from Ebay.
I love all the Calvin Klein perfumes and there's bound to be one to suit you. Stella McCartney's perfume is also gorgeous and has become a recent classic and is a bit different and YSL have just brought out Elle, which is great for women of all ages (and not many people will have tried yet so will get the 'what is that you're wearing?' question, which is always good if you want to be a bit different!)
why dont you go around the perfume section of a department store and have a try of the testers, perfume smell is a personal preference, when you find one you like then you know what you are looking for, perfume is a minefield, everyone has their own perfume these days!!
Choosing a perfume is a very personal thing. What smells gorgeous on one person can smell like toilet cleaner or car air freshener on someone else. Perfume changes on your skin over about an hour or so and you need to know what it smells like on YOU. Hope you find one you really like.
Flower by KENZO is lovely. I have worn it for years but like someone mentioned you need to weaer it for a while so go and have a squirt, walk around for a bit then smell it on yourself.
Fragrancenet.com gives you suggestions of alternative fragrances you may like when you type in the name of what you normally wear. I always have Gucci Rush but fancied a change and one of the suggestions was Liz Claiborne - Vintage Curve which i had never heard off. Bought it and i love it!
I was given a bottle of ETERNITY by Calvin Klein.
It is really nice, light and florally.
Mr Funny was given a bottle of LACOSTE and the smell is absolutely fantastic.
I think the more expensive the better the smell stays on. Prada, any chanel, vera wang or the new Marc Jacobs - Daisy are all nice. But as was mentioned before, pop into Boots and check them out. Is anyone else convinced that the testers are better than the product you purchase - they stay on longer!
