HORRIBLE HAIR DYE!

I've been dying my hair at home alot since i was young. A couple of days ago i tryed to die my hair plain light brown (my naturel colour) . BIG MISTAKE! My hair is now black, which does not suit me one bit. i'm going on holiday in 4weeks and i really want to get this dye out. Its semi permanent, but as my hair has been dyed loads its basically permanent. If i dye it again chances are that it will react with all other dyes and come out ghastly. pretty please someone help me, how can i get rid of it, or fade the colour?!!!??

get it cut really short an buy some earings and accentuate ur eyemakeup and wear loud clothing....take the emphasis off ur hair....wear bandanas, baseball caps etc...it will grow back ...

Don't put anything else on your hair now , as if you are unsure about what you are doing , then it's best to leave well alone. All is not lost though. I recently tried to dye my young sister's hair - under protest I may add , as I did tell her that I am not a hairdresser and don't know much about hair dye. Anyway , her natural colour is strawberry blonde and she wanted to be very blonde. I applied the peroxide solution and thought that I had followed it to the letter but when I started to rinse her hair , it was orange at the scalp and sides and she had flecks of red and yellow ! It was dreadful and she cursed me. I took her to the hairdresser the following day and explained what had happened and they managed to rectify the problem immediately. So if they can repair damage done by harsh solutions such as peroxide the following day after application , then I wouldn't be too alarmed. For heaven sakes though , don't attempt to fix it if you don't know what you are doing. Leave it to the professionals. Hope this helps.

as its only semiperminant it will fade with a lot of shampooing, if you use shower gel this also fades haircolour more so and it is less sympathetic to hair. worth a go n enjoy ya hols

The same thing happened to me not that long ago. What I suggest is getting quite a stong shampoo that will strip the colour out like head and shoulders. Put a load of it on your head and leave it for as long as you can-the whole evening if possible. Try to wear a slightly darker shade of foundation/powder if you wear one to make your skin look less pale.

Baby shampoo helps to strip chemicals from the hair. This also helps if you get a bad perm. I work in a salon and we sometimes will shampoo with dish soap such as Joy, if a color ends up a shade too dark. For either of these it may take a few applications. Good luck!

this has happend to me before as well...sorry! try John frieda sheer blonde shampoo collection (available at wal-mart or cvs) it will dramatically lighten your hair in a few uses because it is supposed to bring out highlights. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO COLOR YOUR HAIR...you can put more color over color,it will not work. Use the highlite activating shampoo,and it will fade the dark color.Dark colors tend to wash out pretty easily when you are already blonde,a process called "oxidizing". In the future,never use semi-permant,and try one with some red in it which will make it look less black (when you color your hair blonde it takes the red out which needs to be replaced to avoid a greenish look) or pay the money to the pros to do this tough job of switching colors...they can fix just about anything.(I'am studying to become one after years of my own misguided attempts)
