well it depends what the last wishes were and also the form of disposal, burial in a public cemetary involves labout costs and burial in a churhyard means buying a plot.
but the actuall funeral directors can usually offer a wide range of options.
For my Mum we had a glass horse drawn hearse with 2 matching grey horses, it cost 800 just or that as I recall, it would have cost alot more to get two black horses as they would have had to be transported from a Staffordshire apparently
My mum had a basic funeral, with 2 cars and a mini bus.
We spent in the region of 400.00.
We did our own catering and it was back to my Mum's flat.
I was surprised at the cost of the coffins though, about 200-300.
My mum was cremated and she always said "don't put me in an expensive box".
You can have a cardboard type coffin , and do the funeral yourself , book the crematoriam , watched a prog, on tv about it I think I would rather pay .But you never see a poor or out of work undertaker ??
