Opticians. Do they all charge the same for
10 Answers
eye tests? Do you have a preferred optician you go to? I've got new frames and want to put my prescription in them but my opticians are charging me 85 and say I should get an eye test, don't know if it's reasonable or not.

I have really bad eyesight and have found other opticians (high street ones, I'm sure independent ones are better, but there are none where I live) just rush you and seem more interested in selling you things. I have found D&A to be very thorough and they don't mind how often you pop in to have new glasses adjusted etc.
When did you last have an eye test? I would probably have another one unless you have had one very recently. You don't want to buy glasses and then find that your prescription has changed!
85 seems reasonable to me.

well, you should be able to tell for yourself whether you need a new test; if you can see fine, why have one? (Opticians do check for eye ailments as well.)
