Has your doctor tested you for thyroid problems? I would consider a second opinion on this one before going down the route of surgery as recovery from something like this will be hellish from what I have heard. Also, most surgeons will NOT consider this operation unless you are clinically obese and you are at serious risk of having a heart attack due to the obesity. Hugs to you, maybe you are just not desitined to be a stick insect but a woman who has sexy curves. Vik xxxx
At 13stone you are not that obese that you need to resort to a gastric bypass. My friend who was 12st at 5ft 2" had tried everything, including the gym and a trainer but didn't shed any weight. She came with me to a Rosemary Conley Class (diet advice and exercise) and it worked. It is based on aerobic excercise and a balanced eating problem (including carbohydrates) with some muscle toning excercises as well. This is meant to be a plan for life so the eating program is sensible. It works by increasing your metabollic rate. It also worked for me and I lost 1 stone in a month. Unfortunately, I had to give up because I am arthritic and the aerobic excercises were badly affecting my back! Rosemary Conley classes are all over the country - I am assuming you are from the UK. Good luck.
