Hi again sorry to keep pestering you but I thought I heard a few years back that there is a course in health care you can do that takes a year off the 3 years it would take me to train to become a midwife. Do you know if this is the case? If it is it may mean I could do this part time this year without waiting until my daughter is older. Thanks!

I think if you look online on the NHS site under careers you may find details of courses you can do first to cut down the 3 years . Sorry I can't be of much use on this sweetie :-)

thanks for your answers I did go to the NHS careers and from what I can gather with a GNVQ level 2 and BTEC Nat Dip I have the correct qualifications already in fact I did get accepted a few years back for nursing so I must have! The course I was talking about is a OCN Access to Higher Education level 3 in Science & Health. I have enquired at my local college and am waiting for them to get back to me but it sounds like it covers the first year of a nursing or midwifery degree. I shall wait and see! I found out that I could study it part time too and some uni's do the nursing degrees part time but only a handful and unfortunately none near me!
