too much gas

I have a really bad farting problem. I suffer from IBS and on some days I can be farting non stop. I know that diet dictates the amount of methane gas being released. Ok I dont consume carbonated drinks and beans are eaten in moderation.
Is there a product that reduces wind? This is not a joke question!

In the meantime, have a peek at this site - it's brilliant - http://www.embarrassingproblems.co.uk/wind.htm
I suffer horribly too (being investigated for Crohns at the mo and spent that last few weeks looking pregnant!).
Windsettlers are quite good. I tried Fibrogel Meverthingy, buscopan and other over the counter IBS meds but they didn't really work for me.
I've got Spasmonol on repeat prescription which is pretty good, lanzoprazole on repeat for acid reflux and ulcers and take peppermint tablets and drink peppermint tea.
The best thing I've found is the drugs I have for my arthritis and suspected crohns, sulfasalazine.
Keep a food diary and see if you can spot any triggers.

You may have a food intolerance. Common undiagnosed intolerances include lactose (milk products) and gluten (wheat products). I am surprised nobody has suggested this already especially the gluten intolerance.
You can now get a genetic screening test for gluten intolerance (also known as Celiac disorder). Either have this test or try cutting out bread, pasta and wheat based cereals for a couple of weeks and see if it makes a difference.

I think we are onto something here. People with food intolerances often love to eat what is bad for them.
Although it is a genetic disorder it often manifests later in life. I know it is in my family because my sister has it. She was diagnosed at age 45. We think it was in our maternal grandmother's family. Hoping that I have avoided it.
There are many substitute foods available as this disorder is quite common. You can even get gluten free bread at many supermarkets.
Google Celiac. There is a lot of information online.
