Hi, my skin heals very very slowly and scars easily. I thought this would've improved after I quit smoking (over 2 years ago) - I eat a pretty healthy diet and drink lots (not too much of it is alcoholic!). Can anyone suggest any lotions/potions etc that may help? Cheers

Hi upsy you dont say how old you are that might help assess things, as for creams i havent found any as yet that can make my skin as it was when i was younger!
Bio oil worked for me with my acne scars, doesnt get rid of them but fades them it seems so overall the skin looks clearer. Think its about 8 so worth a try.
do you have alot of accidents then?
Hello :)

If the scars are older (no open wounds or scabs) you could try some gentle exfoliation and cream which helps regnerate the skin, many anti ageing creams these days have those kind of skin renewal properties.

I've heard silicone gel can be very helpful and products like bio oil, you can get the latter from any chemist.

For something more natural you could try 3 drops of lavender essential oil with I teaspoon of a carrier oil like grape seed oil applied twice a day.

Arnica is good for any bruising.

Make sure your immune system is as good as it can be so your body can regenerate to the best of its ability.

There are more serious (and expensive) ways such as dermabrasion and laser surgery or collagen for sunken scars.
Vitamin E is supposed to help with the blood, healing and scarring , especially after operations, it is meant to heal the skin quicker and leave less scarring. Good luck.
