Because it may be cancer. Basically if you are worried only thing you can do is go see a doctor. My hairdresser noticed a mark on a mole on my neck and told me to go. Luckily was all ok.

I didnt mean to worry and you shouldnt until you have seen doc and had a diagnosis

no 4getmenot u didnt worry me. the other post did that i was reading. thanx ill have a good read of that.x
i saw something on the tv about areas of the skin that constantly get rubbed and this can cause 'knobbly bits' to appear. fairly common (especially as you get older) and nothing to worry about but worth getting checked at docs anyway
is it in a place where you may be catching it or getting deodrant in it?
If it's under your arm then it will be getting rubbed and aggravated and will probably itch and may even bigger or have a scab on it. What I would suggest is going to the GP and asking if it can be removed which will stop the problem. When it is removed he will send it for testing (normal procedure). It is done under local anaesthetic and is painless and quick. My son had it done at age 12 on a mole that was constantly getting rubbed and aggravated.

I would think that it's almost certainly nothing to worry about.

tazz, get it checked out. Your GP should refer you to a dermatologist and they should do a biopsy. That's the only way to make sure it's benign. There are different types of skin cancer and the common ones are easily cured if caught early. Don't worry, just get checked to be sure. Good luck. K x
