From Depo to Microgynon

I have been on Depo for several years and am being moved onto Microgynon. Has anyone else been through this and if so, what did it do to your weight?

Because I have been on Depo for so long I don't actually know if Depo has made me gain weight but if it has, is there any chance going onto Microgynon will take said weight off or are the same set of chemicals at work, meaning that if the one makes you put on weight,the other is likely to as well?

Your experiences would be appreciated

i used to be on microgynon. i gained a little weight but that was ok (only a couple of pounds).
it was the mood swings i noticed more so i came off that one and now i'm on femulin.
no mood swings and little weight gain....perfect. :-)

i was on mycrogynan for a short while i dont think it made me gain weight but it basically dried me up, i was having no period on my off week and it was rather worrying so went and got switched to another type and i never had any problems with that

As my doctor told me when I went on to it, the medication itself does not make you gain weight. It may just increase your appetite so you just have to be extra careful how much you eat.
