Used for thyroid replacement in a patient with an underactive thyroid (Hypothyroidism) Has been used in the past for various other conditions e. g obesity, but there is no scientific evidence that it is effective. I believe, but do not quote me, that Cassius Clay was given thyroxine (eutirox) to lose weght for his fight with George Forman in the "rumble in the Jungle". If i am incorrect then apologies to Muhammed Ali.
