Should you wash hair before dying it?

HELP! Im going to the hairdressers tomorrow but my hair is getting a bit greasy. Is it true that if you wash hair the night before the dye wont stick?

Im meant to be getting the dye in precisely and sharp so i really dont want it to patch or smudge.

Dont wash ur hair.....shampooists are paid to do that, it part of their training.

The hair is more manuable (controllable) when unwashed. There has to be shampooing after the color process, (with conditioning).

Shampooists do so many heads a day so am sure yours wont stand out.

When I go to my hairdressers for my colour (I have three colours) I wash my hair, but, very importantly, I don't condition it.
