Apologies if this causes any offence! But does anyone know how many discrete variants of male orgasm there are? I know that the climax reached from regular sex is markedly different to that achieved via oral sex, which is in turn different to that reached via masturbation. What is the trigger behind each? Why should the sensations be so different? Are different chemicals or different balances of chemicals (endorphins, seratonin etc) released into the bloodstream for each?

Eh? Come again. Seriously IMHO the only trigger behind each is stimulation in one form or another which results in the inevitable outcome of ejaculation.
Agreed. Although the stimulous is different in each case, I'd disagree that there's anything fundamentally different about the orgasms. Moreover, I'd be lying if I said every orgasm from any given method was always the same - depending on mood, energy levels etc etc they differ. Maybe you're just more responsive to a particular type of stimulous?
I'm not sure where you've heard this, but i think you are severely overestimating the sophistication of the male sexual organ. The variatrion - such as it is - is caused only by the length of time taken, and the degree of stimulation applied - it has nothing to do with the method of stimulation, or any difference in chemical input. Sounds great though!
I think you are mixing up the male orgasm with the female orgasm - we get ALL different kinds he he
i know i feel a bit guilty for having so many types! but that doesn't last long (the guilt that is!).
That's a really interesting question! Obviously, for a girl, orgasm can feel very different depending on which 'area' is stimulated, but I've never thought of it from a male point of view.
Didn't Alf Kinsey define six different types of male orgasm back in the 50's? I recall encephalographic patterns varied quite a lot from one to the other. And I concur - sensations vary quite a lot depending on the method used.
