I used the clearasil since I was a child, spots and achne ran in the family with my mum still suffering with it in her 40-50. I have had spots all my life but I would say that I havent had them too bad 'pizza face' i will just maybe have one or too bad ones on a daily basis that I will try and cover with spot cover, I dont wear any other makeup.

I unfortunately seem to have been left with some marking 'pits' of my face on both cheeks from the spots one cheek is still littered with little spots that make that cheek red or flushed to look at.

I have stopped using even the sensertive version of Clearasil incase it dries my skin out and cause wrinkling, which is becoming more of a concern as a get older.

I went on the pill in my teens to help with the spots as recommended by the doctor, but came off the pill about 6 months ago due to a feeling on sickness all the time and that fact going every month or two for a blood pressure checks just to get the pill was too much effort, I didnt need the pill for contraceptive reasons, so I have been off for 6 months now.

I wondered if there are any other face washes that are more 'adult' and will not only help with spots but anti aging moisturing as well.

Thanks in advance.

I'm 23 and use St.Ives anti bacterial apricot scrub. it doesnt dry out the skin but really exfoliates.

have you tried any topical lotions prescribed by a gp?

ermmm no, I dont currnetly have a registered doctor as I rent and move every 6 months all over I find it difficult to keep reregistering.

So anything over the counter or general highstreet labels are best.

Thanks for your st/ Ives anti bacterial apricot scrub recommendation
clearasil and the like are for teenage skin, as you get older you should use different products. MD formulations do great specialist treatments but if you want something cheaper then go for 'simple' or st ives or boots botanics range. The pitted look on your face can be helped with an acid peel, and they are not like those on 10 year younger you can get light peels which work over a period of time. the L'oreal and Olay microdermabrasion home kits are also very very good.

Elaine thanks for your response,

May I ask more about the light skin peel, can you do them at home or are they some thing you go into a clinic for??

re: the L'oreal and Olay microdermabrasion home kits what do these do exactly.

Thanks in advance.
I have been using the Dr Nick Lowe range from Boots. I like the sebum control cleanser which doesn't seem to be upsetting my sensitive skin. The products don't seem to be that harsh and I get the impression the products are aimed at adults not teenagers. It isn't the cheapest line, but is often 3 for 2.
