I do feel very at home in Manchester and very friendly people and you're very close to Leeds and Liverpool, the Lakes, the Peak District etc...
I've always liked Brighton and the south coast, beautiful countryside and I love the sea.
I suppose it depends what you're looking for, are you more for city life, what kind of area do you want to live in?

I'd chose Liverpool! What an amazing vibrant City that is, there is so much going on all the time, love it but of course it all depends on what you're after. North Wales is beautiful, Chester is fab, as is York...........you know, there are so many fantastic places in the UK its hard to chose.
Where abouts are you at the moment Luckyman?
Good luck to you and good for you too! I envy you!

I sailed around the south coast this summer rather than going abroad - there are some absolutely beautiful coastal towns & villages I would move to like a shot if I could afford to - Poole, Salcombe, Dartmouth, Fowey, the Yealm River. Also, Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight.
Where I live it's mostly flat and mostly boring. Norfolk has some great places - but it would defintely be Dorset/Devon or Cornwall for me.

It really depends on what you want to be doing. Brighton is vibrant and full of life and creative people. It is a very "young" place. Dorset is very beautiful but a bit dozy and not too much industry or creativilty. Canterbury is my fave place in the world- a city yet full of history, amazing buildings and just a lovely place to be.
