Tattoos?
24 Answers
Hey everyone
just wondering if anyone could give me some advice on getting a tatto on my hip/lowerpelvis sort of area, at the moment i am not the least bit interested in having children and think that i probably ever will.
but there is the thought that maybe one day i will want to have a baby.
anyway i am thinking of getting three small stars maybe some writing next to them (not sure yet about the writing) but if i were to get pregnant will they stretch and look horrible, i dont want to regret having them because they then look like a blob. i already have a few stretch marks on my stomach as i was fat and lost alot of weight will this affect what happens to my tattoo if i get one??
thanks

Sara could you expand a little on the kind of girl that you need to be to stop it stretching thanks

A tattoo that small in that area will look like a blob eventually regardless of whether you have kids I think, (although I guess most tattoos go to blob without maintenance). If you're dead set on that design and in that area then I'd put it on my hip bone personally rather than any of the more fatty areas. However my initial reaction was don't get that design there... What about your ribs? Might look ok there.

im actually going to give you some advice...instead of just my opinion on tattoos...because im sure you couldnt care less if i like them or not, could you...?
however, it sounds obvious but i would suggest phoning a tattoo artist... a reputable place and asking them....decent places will be only too pleased to discuss your worries with you and help you work out whats best for you... they are well aware of the worries people have with tattoos and as they are permanent, will want their customers to be happy.

i,ll agree with joko and actually give you advice rather than preach of the down fall to satan that will happen if you get a tattoo. i have a tattoo on my stomach and pregnancy totally wrecked it, the ink has all blown and it has stretch marks running throrugh it, its right next to my belly button so in hindsight probably not a great area to get done.as someone said in a previous answer maybe more on your hip bone area would be better than the fleshy stomach.
If you ever do have children in the future your skin will stretch and the tattoo will probably end up as a shapeless blob.
Even if you don't have children your tattoo will look horrible as you age.
There is a grandma I see at the school gates each day. She's about 65 and has several small tattooes. Because her skin is wrinkly the tattooes look ghastly.

I think if you want it, then do it. Just be certain of what tattoo you want. I got one at 18 and wish I spent more time thinking about what I really want. As for what it will look like when your older, I say do thinks for the moment and enjoy life. You never know what it going to happen in the future.
Exactly Lottie....
mind you, the fact that you stand out might have more to do with you looking like this whenever you venture outside

If you get pregnant this area will get stretched. I didn't think I'd ever want kids and now have a baby - I don't know how old you are now, but you may well change your mind about kids as I did!
Like the others have said choose a less fleshy area. Also don't choose something which just a fashionable design now as these things change, but something which you really love, try and find something timeless.
I think tats on women are ok, it really depends on the design and its location. My mum has one, she had it done about 13 years ago and although she doesn't regret it, if she had her time again she wouldn't have chosen that design!
