Psychics?
7 Answers
I am questioning to myself whether or not all the psychics that are appearing on TV recently are genuine? I would be able to accept that a psychic could maybe see the past but the claims that a psychic can see into your future and tell your fortune troubles me. Isnt that a contradiction in its self? What Im trying to say is if a person can see my future then that future must be pre-determined for it to be visible to a psychic, so why would a psychic advise me to do one thing or another to change or better that future? Like you should change your job or start living more, if I can change my future based on what a psychic tells me then it can not be pre-determined and if its not pre-determined there would be no way anyone could look at it?

Ever notice how for the most part they just say stuff that can apply to darn near anybody? "Some good vibes are coming your way if you just perservere at work, but be wary of you-know-who atleast for the next week" When a true reading would be more like "Business as ususl in the work place, but keep an eye on that pimply pasty kid with the high-pitched voice - he's gonna try to grab your ass. Oh, and your husband's gonna get the surprise of his life when you surprise him by showing up at Starbucks around 6 pm thursday, when he's there with his new mistress"
How come you never see the headline in the newspaper "PSYCHIC WINS THE LOTTERY" ?
point taken... but from personal experience there are some that are genuine... for me it was a chance meeting on a road after the pubs shut...she warned me of something that would happen with "big influence on my life" well it happened bang on time 15 yrs later and had incredibly bad influence on my life...so i dont know if she put a curse on me or was warning me.......
There are 2 types, those people who believe and those that don't. The psychic knows that generally only those that believe will go to see them. All they need are a few hooks, they throw out a generalisation, lets say has a male relative died recently (most people go to these places because they are looking to contact somebody) if they have your already hooked in if not they fish a bit, obviously has to be a women so they suggest the name is something like a mans name, most names have a male equivalent. Thing is lots of people give out info they migth say Yes its auntie this or that. Its cycle goes on where they ask general questions and make them more personal due to the way people respond, until they get to a point where they are talking about exact events simply because you have given enough info away for them to do that. Derek whats his face of TV is good at that, there was one where he was talking about the "spirit" walking up and down on a new carpet because they liked it. The women was really excited about it but she had told him she had a new carpet. Sure he's a good show man and he makes people feel better about life, but I'm 100% sure he doesn't speak to the dead.
Well me myself, I don't even consider myself to be a psychic, I just 'coincidently' see things that maybe become reality in some sort of shape or form.
I'ts impossible to tell the future fully, okay so maybe it can be shown, as I see in dreams, I was concerned for my grandfather as I had a nightmare of him being in the hospital with tubes and a patch on his neck...I later, a few weeks later, heard from my mum telling my dad that my grandfather was ill and that he had cancer which upset me dramatically especially as I'd been so worried about my nightmare in the first place and so had told people about it, when I told them, they were as confused as me...
This is the sort of experiences that can happen, but you can't just turn these things on and off well, not me anyway
as in the past tense...the other day my mum waslooking on a family tree maker thing on the internet, it had a section that you could click on the year, and then on the months. I just got the date, 1974 springing to my mind, I told my mum 'mum, try 1974' she asked me why and I just said 'it's a feeling' she looked, and sure enough, February 1974

The TV psychic thing is a load of nonsense for gullibles to go "gaw-lee" at. Then again, so are psychics who work privately. The most charitable view I can take is that they're very skilled at reading signs and picking up things about people, and at best may be able to advise someone on where they're going wrong and what they might try doing. I'd like to think some people may be genuinely helped in this way.
A former colleague Sue who's black said she went to have a psychic reading, the psychic started confidently rattling off all this stuff to which Sue honestly replied "no" and the psychic got increasingly flustered at not getting anything right, and eventually said "Well, you know, my techniques are actually better attuned to people not of your... ethnic group" !!! I'm not suggesting all so-called psychics are as outrageously stupid as that but it gives an idea of the sort of quackery you're likely to find.
By the way - WHY would anyone go to a psychic in the first place? What are you looking for?
