I read in my local newspaper that an ex-colleague has sadly died. I have no method of contacting the family as they moved from their last address.
Dose anybody know how I can find out any more about her death, or indeed how I may contact the family?
Many thanks.

rng the funeral directors (if it didnt say in the paper, ring round and ask if they are handling the funeral of x)
contact the local newspaper or look up their name in the phone book - they must be local to be in it
theirs often a record in online obituarys services try that or your registry office may help or try the voters roll in the area last known.
Through the funeral directors, although it is not unusual for families who have emigrated to put a notice in the local paper of their 'home town'.

If you do track the funeral director down, send a condolence card care of them and put your phone number in it.

Ask the reporter on the paper where he got the story from.
