Good grief! Was this for an ordinary ambulance (as opposed to a private ambulance?)
I believe that both the Ambulance and Fire sevices can levy a charge, but generally only do it for what they consider a false alarm, and even then, not often.

they set and monitor the standards of all care homes. If any of the regulations that all homes need to abide by are breached, then they will investigate.Make sure you have any available evidence of bad practice gathered beforehand.
theonlyone, was the GP not involved because I am sure they can request an ambulance at any time and there is no payment as far as I know.
i it is non emergency transport, then people have to fit into strict criteria. if they do not meet the criteria, then they have to pay
My brother was sent a bill for the ambulance coming out when he was in a crash
If the elderly person was in so much pain then a doctor should have been called, or the poor man transported to hospital by a member of staff crom the care home. How can anyone be so cruel as to watch a vulnerable person suffer and do nothing about it.
My goodness! My mother is in a care home and had some unexplained areas of bruising, so they called the GP. The GP was concerned and arranged for her to go into hospital just for a few checks, and an ambulance was called. She wasn't in pain and it wasn't an emergency. There was no ambulance charge.
Oh my God, 4getmenot. that is awful. Did they think he got into the crash on purpose or something. I really feel for him.

I think I am right in saying the Fire Bridage can charge you over 300 for a false alarm, and if you have a chimney fire as it is your duty to get your chimney swept at regular intervals.

If you live in a smokeless zone does this mean your home can't burn down, as you can't make smoke?
