Nail polish

Hi dolls....can you help me out....my wife is driving me up the wall with this query...She wants to know why little bubbles appear on her nail varnish while it's drying....I think it's little air bubbles caused by her shaking the bottle before applying it....could be wrong though....any answers would be appriciated...thanks

yeah it could be the shaking, try rolling the bottle instead inbetween your hands before you use it

She could also be putting too much on at once. Far better to do a couple of layers rather than one big thick one.

Does she shake the bottle beforehand to get it smother.

As boo said, more lighter layers are better and once part dry, plunge into a bowl of cold water to set.

Loremare, better to try a more modern formula which will dry quickly...what sort of range are you using at present? Modern nail varnish doesn't usually need to be shaken (I think people's shaking habits go back to the time when there were tiny ball bearings in the bottom of the bottle).
A good modern nail varnish will only need one layer.

Even if your wife is youngish then she'll have seen her family relatives shaking the bottle in previous generations.
Don't plunge the nails into cold water as it may set the varnish into strange ridged formations.
