22 Answers
last 2 nights i have woken my husband screaming my head off when i have been fast asleep.
Never the less he has woken me up to check if im ok, last night i got so het up about it i had a panic attack.
it took me an hour to get over it and fell back to sleep exhausted.
Any advice on what i can do to avoid the night time terrors?

it sort of got stuck in her hair and she screamed the place down....for about 6 months after she would wake up screaming about once a week, with some crazy dream freaking her out.
could something like this have set it off?
it wore off gradually and became further apart.
also i find if i go to sleep when i am not 'completely' tired...i get kind of waking nightmares...where i believe i am wide awake in my room - i can see my room etc - ( i suspect my eyes are open too)...so i have to make sure i am mentally and physically conking out before i go to bed...
perhaps some form of exercise during the day ...just to release and leftover nervous energy??

If you dont talk about or express your anxieties/fears, they come out in other ways, I have had many a sleepless night and been afraid to go to bed myself, but ive learnt to control it over the years, everyones advice about excersize is good and someone mentioned about only going to bed when they are completely wiped out...I did this a lot when I was having sleep problems, you may feel tired the next day, but you will get into a deep sleep and it wont be disturbed!!! Best of luck and hope it goes away soon.......talk about your feelings, this will help too! x
