Would have local priest go over it with a bottle of holy water and perhaps a mass in it...too soothe ur nerves ... maybe I've been hardwired into the opening scenario in too many horror movies....but good luck with it... Keep a diary from day u move in!
What's the sale history of the house? Has it been sold every year or two? If so, DEFINITELY don't buy it.
It reminds me of the book House of Leaves by Mark Danielewski... an incredibly creepy book about a haunted house that this couple moves buys and moves into, which is bigger on the inside than on the outside, and is constantly changing inside. Try reading that book and see if you still want to buy a possibly haunted house.
Most houses nowadays have had 5-6 maybe 7 familys living there so the chances of someone dying in them whether its suicide or natural is proberly high and its a part of human life so I wouldn't worry about it but use it in your favour maybe to get the price reduced a little. Good luck and happy house buying.
My house is over two hundred years old and I don't know what happened here that long ago. Most old houses will have something odd that has happened. Go ahead, buy the house - unless of course you really are worried. If that is the case every little creak or knock will have you quaking in your boots!
I'd been living in my current house for three months before my girlfriend came round, she sensed a ghost straight away but didn't tell me until I broched the subject. If she hadn't of told me I'd be none the wiser. I'm not sure of the law now about passing on info like that to prospective purchasers tho.
I don't think it should make that much of a difference.
few questions are....
Do the people selling the house seem almost OVER EAGER to sell it?
Do You honestly believe in the supernatural? ( if you dont then theres no cause for alarm!)
and finally... i suppose you could always ask the sellers of the house if any supernatural/unexplained occurencies have happened!
there are 2 types of spirits good and bad.
there are such things as a good spirit.
my mate(whom i know is NOT a liar) had a dream... he said he saw a spirit of some form(try frank from donnie darko!!) tell him NOT to buy a car he had a look at a day previous... a week or 2 later, there was a picture of the same car (identifiable by same colour make and reg number) it had been in a crash... the driver of it had died instantly.
strange huh!
