Electric Shock?

I have been using an induction hob for 7 years. In the past 3 months my grandson aged 12 who has been sitting in the kitchen approximately 10 feet away has experienced a "shock" in the back of his head and neck on three separate occasions, at the precise moment that I have switched the hob on. Does anyone have an explanation for this?

Sounds like your carrying static or wearing rubber shoes which prevent static earthing.

My slippers are rubber and if I dont remove them before switching light on or off I get a shock. Doesn't happen with outdoor leather shoes.
