Im 16 right. But what do girls look for in us lads. Do they go for good looking lads all the time. Or personality or both. I think i have a dodgy nose though pplz tell me i dont would this put girls off, or would girls still go out with a guy with a dodgy nose or someing stupid like that. Do girls go for 60% looks 40% personality or other way round or what? Cheers for any answers.

At age 16, some girls may initially be attracted to a guy and approach him strictly based on looks, but in my experience that pretty much applied to the top 10 percentile in good-looking guys and girls (that is, the best-looking girls went after the best-looking guys).  Any relationships I (or my girlfriends) developed at that age with a guy at school was based on personality mainly.  I had already talked to him and joked around with him before I started feeling attracted to him.  Your mileage may vary, of course.

thanks ousich , how come u write load of text, i mean thats not bad, u give very good answers, cheers.

There is a certain amount of look-related bias when you're 16, but when then chips are down, it is all up to your personality......

I'v e gone out with text-book gorgeous men and possibly one of the most peculiar looking men I've ever met, and I have to say Mr. Peculiar certainly rang bells Mr. Perfect did not!

So really, you should just give it your best shot. Be nice, attentive and be yourself (sounds so bloody trite, but it's true). At the end of the day, if you base all your relationships purely on how your partner looks, you'll end up a sad and lonely old person!

I think 16 year old girls are also impressed by maturity (it's been a long time...sigh)ie not acting like a pr*ck when your mates are around.  And you've probably heard it lots before but making her laugh counts as much, if not more so, than having a perfect nose.

thanks for some great answers there, much appreiated.

I'd say that at that age, girls are more likely to go for looks over personality, because at 16, they're more bothered about what their peers think.

My sister is almost 18 and going out with this guy who has model boy looks, but he's got the personality of a wet fish! Just wait, in a few more years, if you're as great a guy as you seem to be, you won't be able to fight them off!

I agree at 16 girls and lads tend to go for the model looks, this will be down to peer pressure. But the older you get and wiser you become personality will end up thje deciding factor. Looks don;t last for ever, and as for the less attractive girls or lads they change appearance over the years. I knew lots of " average " girls at school who now at 24 are stunning and the stunning ones before are single mums in trakkies smoking richmonds!!
And may I just add that not all girls are like this- I changed my mind as often as I changed my knickers at that age (i.e. a lot! I wasn't grim or anything!). I went from fancying the coolest boy in school to having a real thing for the speccy four-eyes maths whiz. So, all in all, girls are just impossible to understand full stop! Just be yourself and you'll be fine..
I am a 16 year old girl and i must say i go for both. In fact, i think personality is more important, so i would say: 60% personality, and 40% looks.

Hi there

I think women mainly go for personality, all they want is someone who makes them laugh and listens to them! Women really find confidence attractive in a man (not arrogance) - As long as you happy in yourself that is the most important thing! Also, I think men can look a lot better depending on the clothes they wear.

I'm a 17yr old girl and I definitely go for personality and that's being serious not just trying to sound like a decent person! In fact, really fit blokes I don't actually feel all that attracted to, even if I realise that they are classically good looking. A few flaws are actually quite endearing and by the way I like big, crooked noses like Robbie from 'Taggart'!
Most women are attracted to looks, money, power and such like. Personality is low down in their list of priorities. The idea that a sense of humour is the most appealing quality of a man is, ironically, laughable.
