I think I may have nail psoriasis, although just one nail shows the characteristics of this. Can anyone suggest how to treat it? I've read that vit D helps but takes a while to have an effect. I spilt turpentine on my arm about a year ago and suffered quite a severe reaction to it. Could this skin trauma have some link to the nail?

i dont think you have nail psoriasis. i think you have a fungal infection you should go to the doctor and he will give you some tablets to kill the fungus and the nail will regrow as new, the nail will not be linked to your accident and taking vit d will be of no use until you have been diagnosed. if you do have a fungal infection hygiene is of the utmost importance as it can spread,  mullein

I definitely don't have a fungal infection. I do not have any of the characteristics of this. I have a pitted nail, which is due to a problem in the nail bed, a sure sign of nail psoriasis and I have also previously suffered from skin psoriasis which was treated with steroid cream but this is not recommended for the nail as it can damage the nail bed further. I don't want to visit my g.p because of one finger nail!

Any suggestions?

Even with one nail affected, it would be worth seeing a GP.  There are several things that could result in damage to a nail bed and a pitted nail.
I would be surprised if this is psoriasis which normally affects elbows knees & scalp. Pitted nails can be attributed to many conditions ,calcium deficiency being only one. You must ask your G.P.or practice nurse, it is better than worrying 7 they can diagnose to put your mind at rest. I doubt if your reaction to turps is connected. ...Spinner
well try dandelion root you can get it from the health shop you also need vit a vit e and zinc tablets, you should bathe in epsom salts baths if you have psoriasis and also cut out sugar yeast foods white flour etc,,, you could also try aloe vera massaged into feet after bathing, you could also try echinacea to boost your immune system, mullein
Sorry to hear about your nail trauma. are you sure you didn't hit your nail with a hammer? This can cause dents in the nail. Hope this is of some use.
