Just discovered a boil, the big question is do I lance or squeeze it?

Ok, I'll try and let the puss out by squeezing, just wondered if there was any risk of scarring?

It all depends whether it has a head on it ready to squeeze. Take a look in the mirror, if it's not ready leave it alone & if it is still leave it alone, else you'll make a mess of your mirror!

Don't squeeze, lance or pick at it!

If it's any where around your face area I'd go to the doctor or nurse at the surgery asap.

Anywhere else - it's ok we don't need to know - keep it clean & see what happens in the next couple of days.  If it's not getting better  go to the docs.

I get boils all the time, I put sudocrem on em, it draws em to a head and they burst on their own!!!!

There is a risk of scarring. Cover the boil with some antiseptic cream and a plaster and let it burst naturally.
