Hello, I saw a optician just before Xmas and had the usual battery of tests. The optician was concerned that the pressure in my eyes was too high, so wrote a letter to my G,P. asking that I be refferred to an eye specialist at my local hospital. After a number of tests at the hospital it was confirmed that I have glaucoma. I have been told that I have to us e two different types of eye drops, one in the morning & one in the evening, and to see the specilaist again in six weeks. Has anybody got any personal experience of living with glaucoma or , have a relative or friend with glaucoma? Many Thanks & Best Wishes.

well i certainly dont want to alarm you as is well controlled if caught early. My experience was left it a long time between eye tests as my eyes were so shortsighted and the specs so dear, so when i was diagnosed i was welladvanced and i too take drops twice per day. My main problem is loss of perpheral vision in right eye causing difficukty in crowded places. Also get very sore eyelids which i will ask about next month when i go ack to clinic. I am sure you will be fine Zubar.

My mum (78) and hes sister have it and she uses drops. Her eyes are absolultely fine with the drops - apparently they can change the colour of your eyes but mums are the same. One +ve is that her eyelashes are longer and thicker.

I have free eye tests now as mum has the problem.
