can anyone help me. when ever i start getting warm, especially of a night. i start getting a rash which really itches and then lumps appear like hives. it lasts for ages i even have to calm it down with a cold flannel. a friend of mine says it might because i might be going through the change. any suggestions why it happens?

It is hives, heat rash, prickly heat - lots of names for the same thing, caused by your body overheating and sweating.

It can be a sign of the menopause - ask your doctor for a blood test to see if you are in the early stages.

In the meantime, cotton sheets, cool shower before bed, plenty of talc and cotton nightware. Try not to get too hot in bed - use only enough bedding to keep you comfortably warm.
