i think God exists in your mind and in your heart.

i beleive also, that we beleive because we have a need and a hope that there is someone supreme who'll reward us and look after us if we follow a path, usually one defined by a certain religion, even though you could be inactive in that area. that is why we turn to God in times of trouble and despair, and sometimes the loss of a loved one, such was my case when my father died. that's why people turn to God when they try to get rid of an addiction. they think that that higher power can somehow rescue you, but in reality the power is within yourself. that God gives you strenght and keeps you going. i think what really matters is that beleiving in God makes you a better person,  and, of course, as long as we don't become bigots and shun or kill others in the name of God, or, even, when we start giving people we know he** because they don't belong to a particular church or religion.
