When I went for my pre operation assessment I was told that a small incersion would be made over the hernia, the hernia stitched back into place and then the cut either glued or stapled back together. I understood that the operation would be simple and that I would be in and out of hospital within the day. Sounds easy doesn't it but the fear still exists, would rather go to the dentist!! Good luck with your's, hope all goes well.

Hi
Hubby had this op a few years back and it was done as you describe, with a piece of surgical gauze glued over the incision. Had to stay overnight in hospital and was off work for a few weeks. No problems at all apart from some soreness for about 2 weeks, which he really made the most of because of course he couldn't possibly get out of his chair to do anything!
