Beanie teddy smells :o(

Didn't know where to post this. I have a wee dog beanie teddy who I like to cuddle. The other night I picked him up and he really stank. I washed him today and he still reeks in his tummy area. How do I get rid of the smell from him cos I can't throw him away, he's very important! Thanks :o)
