In a pregnancy test that was concluded negative, is it however, possible that there was miscarriage in the early weeks if the test states there were traces of chorionic gonadotropin - Probably low levels, hence the test was concluded negative?

Therefore if there were traces of it after a recent miscarriage I'm inclined to believe that the test would give you a false positive reading rather than a false negative. How do you know that the test detected any levels of HCG? In this case, if it's a more scientific test than the old drugstore disposables, maybe the test detected the low levels that are present at the very beginning but not quite enough to give a definite "yes". So to actually answer your question, yes it is possible.
