Does anyone out there actually enjoy their job and while we're on the subject, what is the most boring job you have ever done?

It's okay, good days and bad days really. I worked in a pizza factory for one day, I spent the entire shift watching frozen pizzas go past on a conveyor belt and dropping slices of pepperoni on to them. Everyone was completely plastered in tomato sauce and the machines were so loud you couldn't talk to anyone. Needless to say I never went back.
My job now is fine- but I won't be here forever because it's not the industry I want to be in...my worst job?  Hostessing for posh girls' 21st birthday parties..."Could you pass me a glass of fizz? Thanks awfully, darling...anyway, Rupert, I was telling you about Snuggles, my pony, wasn't I?..."

Hostessing for posh girls' 21st birthday parties, now that sounds like the job for me. how do i get involved?
I enjoy my job, worst job was working in a cash converters place (I had to pay the rent!) with a chinese girl that couldn't speak english, a french man that was gay and used to grab my boobs because he'd never felt any before and an indian girl who was so materialistic it was unreal "Not unless it's gucci darling". Pi*s off.
yep, really like my job.  but it is just a job - I only do it to get money.  Lucky enough to have had lots of jobs that I really liked.  (Like the old saying goes: find a job you like & you'll never have to work a day in your life again : - )

The most boring job I've ever done (which doesn't mean the worst...) was working in a video factory blanking video tapes.  12 hour shifts 7pm-7am taking them out of a box, putting them on one end of a conveyor belt one at a time while my mate took them off the other end and put them in another box.
Blimey natalie_1982, you didn't fall for the old "I'm French & gay, so can I grab yer Knockers routine" did you? Tell ya what, if I had a frogs leg for everytime I've pulled that one......priceless.
lmao - he was definately gay!

Most enjoyable job - the one I do now in jewellery.

Worst job - moved to london to be a nanny, turned out it was to be a skivvy, stuck it for six months too!

Worked in a food factory for ten years. Plum Strigging, which is picking the stalks off as they go by on a conveyor belt. For 8 hrs. And Gooseberry Snibbling, which is basically the same thing. But with Gooseberries.

Opening sacks of dried peas and tipping them into a hopper was pretty dull.

Most boring was working as a litho printer, sitting in front of a machine for 8 hrs just watching it, only stopping every two hrs to load up more paper. As much as I could do to stay awake.

I am an illustrator, but I work for a big city council. I love the type of work I do, but I hate having to work under or beside people I don't like. I wouldn't rather be anything other than an illustrator, but I dream of the day when I can leave the Council. I have been freelance but I didn't earn as much as I'm getting now - it pays well. I want to be famous. I've had a few books published, I've been on TV, radio and national newspapers, but to quit my job I'd need to be REALLY famous. I'm working on it.
Wow, good for you tartanwiz, best of luck. I don't work now, but the worst job I ever had was at a taco/fried chicken place: The centimeter thick layer of oil on the floor, the smell of rancid beef fat in the air, fat greasy-faced customers barking at you and... the most challenging aspect of that job was convincing myself that I wasn't a total loser. I wasn't fortunate enough to be granted the reprieve of working cash register, so usually ended up lining frozen biscuits on trays then putting them back in the freezer for next week. Oh! bless the day when I got promoted to the taco assembly line! 5 people assembling 1 taco, I was the tomato girl. 8 hours of tomato placing and when there would be a rare moment of down time I got to scrub those fetid bathrooms! Fortunately for me, the supervisors, those angels of mercy, took pity on my wretched soul and fired me after a month.
I heard of someone who was hired to sit at a desk. I think it was some kind of receptionist job for a place that got no visitors. The cruelest part was: she wasn't allowed to read a book in case someone came in and saw her "not working."

Yep, I really like my job.  I plan conferences for a non-profit organization, and I love the detail work, and feel like I'm making a difference in people's lives.

Most boring job I ever had was filing in a doctor's office - all the files were coded with numbers for confidentiality, so I spent the whole day in a room filled with files with little colored number tags on the side, and a stack of things to file in them.  I would dream at night in series of little number codes.

The worst job I ever had was something I really liked doing, actually, but my boss was a manipulative, controlling, 2-faced alcoholic who eventually made it to jail for embezzling money from our little non-profit, sending it into the ground.

Most boring job - a Saturday girl at BHS, not till trained at the time, was given the hankie and glove counters to tidy, had to keep putting the initialled hankies back in order as people kept messing them up and matching up the pairs of gloves taken out of the bags!  Best job - working for the Police - interesting and lots of lovely coppers!
Love mine. Sit at home smoking and drinking coffee watching money go in my account. Never had another job since 16 so happy as a pig in ...........
I love my job, particularly because there is a very special person that I work with who makes going to work a pleasure and he feels the same about me.  So we never take long weekends, two days without speaking to each other is long enough and we are never off sick!  We are model employees and should get a bonus!

Yes I have job satisfaction.

I'm an artist working from home and have no-one to report to, work when I want, wear what I want, and love my job!!!!!!!

I do like my job. I've worked for BT for almost 31 years, and I've had a variety of different office jobs, and enjoyed all of them. In my spare time, I'm a music writer, and i really love that, and if I get the chance to do that full time, I will, but I need a regular salary so it's just a great paying hobby - I get to talk to musicians and see my deathless prise in print, and get paid, so it beats fishing!
Oh sorry, I forgot, I;ve never had a boring job. I worked at a solicitor's when I left college - that was for about four mohnths, and then I joined the Post Office (now BT) and I'm still there, so I've been very lucky.
