A girdle?
57 Answers
This question came to mind when I was watching Mrs Obama this week. For the past few years I've been struggling to keep my figure, notably a waistline. This week I've notice Michele Obama wears a girdle. My question to you ladies out there over 40; do you wear a girdle? If I discover that the majority of women over 40 wear a girdle I'm going to have a party!! and eat what I want...

Well, I think those Spandex things must be great if someone wants to flatten a few wobbly bits out, but what's wrong with one of those lace-up corsets?!! I think they look great.

I'd wear one of those as a top!!

Well you couldn't wear one of those just anywhere, beaniesq, but I think they look nice, and the old lace-ups'd sure keep any flab at bay I'd imagine. I've got a black and red basque which's lightly boned down the sides, and it laces up at the back. Obviously can't get into it myself, but I love it. I don't think they're naughty - just attractive. x
I've posted my pic just once on AB - when the old avatars were available - and never again!! I did so in innocence, but got a lot of stick over it, for some ridiculous reason. Anyway, I think basques can suit all shapes and sizes. I'm not fat, but have a somewhat ample top half, so I just think that pretty basques hold everything in well!
Beaniesq - I don't have nights out as in the accepted way - like going to pubs. I don't drink now anyway, but we DO go to festivals and rock concerts, so the corseted-type tops are acceptable with jeans or leggings, or at home when we have fancy dress parties.

Yeah I'm the same - i dont go OUT out, (clubs etc), and I don't really drink either.
But I go to a lot of music gigs, same as you. You've tempted me to give it a go, now!
I'm a 34dd, so the support would come in useful, hehe...
We should send Elv a photo of us in corsets if he would send us one of him. In a corset.
Fair's fair...

LOL!! Brilliant reply beaniesq! Don't think the husband'd be too happy with that idea though. He went mad when he knew the avatar pic was up, let alone a basque pic! : )
Well I think you beat me in the upper area. I'm a 36, but only a C. Still - I bet we could both double up as Nell Gwyn!!
Do you know Elvis - I HAVE ridden through the woods wearing a similar type of top - but only because it was a hot summer's day, and no one could see me!
