I lost an uncle on mine years back and I never got over it, it's so bad that everytime some dear to me falls ill I panic that they are going to die... For the last 2 years all I have been doing is worrying about other family members and I feel so tired and stressed, I am tense everyday when I get home from work... At the moment I have 3 family members unwell and I can't cope I keep thinking that I will have to go through all that pain again and never see that person every again... My husbands Grandad died a few months back and as much as I tried to be there for him I really struggled and I bearly knew him....It just seems that I can't deal with death... :(

You may feel that others around you are coping better and accepting it but we are all different. Maybe speak to your doctor you may benefit from talking to someone outside the family may help.

Bless ya. I think it would do you good to speak to a professional - ask your GP for a referral to a counsellor for this specific issue - hopefully your area will have one who deals with bereavement issues.
From a little girl I have always had a great fear of losing my dad. Every time he was ill I would be terrified of him dying. I am now 47 - he is now 80 & still alive and kicking!! I know I will have to face my fear one day, and at 80 inevitably that day is drawing every closer.
It is an emotive subject and one that a lot of people don't want to think about or fear. I think your fear is perhaps now that much it's affecting your own life - ask for help, you're not alone.

I lost someone really close, my dearest friend, 25 years ago when I was 18 and I loved in fear of losing someone else again unti I reached 35. It totally controlled my life and I in turn tried to control that of my husband and my kids to try to prevent it happening again.
I ended up having the briefest course of counselling and it helped me tremendously. you need to get this sorted before it goes onto more serious things. It is nothing to be scared of but it wil drag you down more and more if you don't get some help.
As others have said, death is natural and not avoidable, but you may be suprised to find you deal with it better than you could ever have thought. Good luck XXXX
