my friend regularly waxes her facial hair but often ends up with the top layer of skin being yanked off too!
How can she avoid this??

By not having a hot bath / shower before waxing and also not going on the sunbed. Also, the wax itself could be too hot.
Try putting a bit of talc on the area first, that helps.
Try shaving.
ooh that sounds v painful! use hair removing cream instead, also stops the skin going a strange grey colour as waxing seems to make it do.
Go to a salon ... tell her to stop doing it herself !!!!!!!
Get her to try threading. Its becoming more common now. You can probably find someone to do it cheaply in your area. Its thorough and gentle. I wouln't go back to waxing now.
im doing waxing in college at the mo, she needs to make sure that the skin is pulled tight(if lip then pull cheeck towards ear and down) then remove the strip quickly.
