Is there anything I can do to help aid my nervous system, as in supplements, lifestyle, etc.

When I get nervous I get very twitchy and extremly tongue tied. This is starting to affect my everyday life, at home and more importantly at work.

It is eating away at my confidence. There must be something I can do to help this problem?

If the situation is affecting your daily life, you need to see a doctor.  This link has some information and a self-test for Social Anxiety Disorder.  Your doctor can evaluate you and prescribe a medication that will help you.

I do sympathise with you jambo, but you should consult your GP for this problem. Good luck.

The above answers are very good and I would definitely try the deep breathing technique used in yoga when you feel anxious, it really does help.

Your'e not alone and you can learn to deal with this and overcome it.

Good luck

You may be suffering from the effects of continual stress. This can effect your breathing and cause you to overbreathe, without realising. Try reading Hyperventilation Syndrome by Dinah Bradley. All the suggestions about Yoga and breathing exercises are valid, Tai Chi would also help. The most important thing is to make the time and commitment to practice.
