can shoe polish get rid of an itch

this isnt a wind up either. I have heard this off many people. if you have an itchy leg or arm a cure is to rub shoe polish on yourself. This is a genuine question. I think its actually possible.

Don't use shoe polish. Shoe polish is for shoes. Use something from a chemist and stop asking silly questions.
