Has anyone had contact with a loved one who has passed away?

Has anyone here made contact with a departed loved one? What kind of experience was this? Was it via a medium or was it a sign, something that you know could have only come from that person who had passed away?
I am definetly curious about this and I am sitting on the fence as to whether I believe that there is "life" after death or not. I would like to believe so. Then again, the cynics out there will say that you die and that is it.

I have an open mind on this subject - I did once go to a spiritualist/medium many years ago with my friend, we both were'nt expecting much - he told me general stuff, nothing definate.

I also went along to a spiritualist church in Romford with a work mate, she did'nt want to go alone, so I went with her - she did'nt get any 'messages' - but the lady in charge told me there was a spirit sitting next to me - I nearly sh�te myself.

squarebear its not a show, and same people go to the local church every week, people I know and we have mediums in from all over the place. Thats why I only go to ones where you dont pay, what would be in it for them

I agree with 4getmenot, I also go to the local Spiritualist Church where you don't pay and they have visiting mediums, some better than others.

Some of them will arrange a private reading with you which you pay for but at Church there is no charge.

As for the comment about stooges... I've have been to churches with people who have had messages that were very specific and the info could not have been known by the medium beforehand. These were my friends and definately NOT stooges!!!

When my mum was young (19) she was engaged, unfortunately her fianc� was killed in an accident jdays before the wedding. When I was a teenager I used to feel like someone was watching me � a good feeling not creepy I can only describe it as I felt �safe�. I would see a man in my minds eye, not actually there in the room. I told my mum about this and described him in detail and she started crying as I had described her fianc� exactly, down to what he was wearing the day he died and a necklace he was buried with. I knew about him, but not any detail and I had never seen a photo as she does not have one show me.

Take into account the fact my dad died when I was little and I have not heard a peep out of him ;-) and I would love too! So I do not think you can just put this down to wanting to believe, not always. I can not explain it though either.

Everyone as there own beliefs and own opinions which I respect ... But then also respect mine.. I go to a spiritual church everyweek and iv no doubt in my mind that spirit exist .. It's been proven time an time again iv had messages that absoultly no one cud av known not even my mum.. Our church doesant charge 4 any of these readings all they charge 4 is the cuppa after :) I was very skeptical to start with I'm not a fancyfull person at all but I also can't ignore the proof that's put in front of me.. There are alot of con artists out there which is crap because it gives spiritualism a bad name.. For me iv had nothing but amazing experiences from spirit :) Thats just my opinion :) x

It makes me mad when people say "When you're dead end of". How do they know? Im a spiritualist and only ever go to spiritualist churches. I've received messages from my parents over the years since they passed plus messages to pass on to other members of my family. All spot on and for �2-3. I despise the charlatons who charge up to �90 with no genuine messages to give. Real mediums cannot tell someone who will win in bingo etc. Spirit does'nt work like that. Dont knock it till you've tried it.

Note, The living are conscious they will die but the dead are conscious of nothing. Therefore how would they be able to communicate with the living?

Ezekiel 18:4,20 states �The soul that is sinning- it itself will die� (so the soul is not something that survives the death of the body and with which living humans can thereafter communicate.)

Psalm 146:4 �His spirit goes out, he goes back to his ground; in that day his thoughts do perish.�
This is merely another way of saying that the life-force has ceased to be active. Thus, after a person dies, his spirit does not exist as an immaterial being that can think and carry out plans apart from the body. It is not something with which the living can communicate after a persons death.)

I view of the information in my previous post which is from the written word of our creator, if one were to recieve "messages" from dead loved ones it would only be trickery performed by the adversary of our creator or his demon helpers who are roaming the earth looking for and committing all sorts of machinations to decieve the believers into worshipping satan himself.

All the evidence IS THERE for all to see, it is being preached around the globe at this special time when all signs are becomming manifest for all to witness.

I think Pete means that once you are in Heaven, you cannot contact people back on Earth as you have crossed over.

Jesus, presumably is different as he is the son of God and I assume can do whatever he wants.

There are gullible people out there or mabe that's not the right word ... People who are greiving so bad there desparate for contact with passed loved ones.. I am not one of those people... I like the way that no ones judged and everyones welcome we laugh have fun an be normal ... But I also agree there's alot of fakes out there which like iv said gives this religion a bad name which isant fair :( ..
