Well i know he would lol.....
Ahhhh i'm so confused now
I would like to know the opinion of the medical profession about the wisdom of punching a hole through one of the major muscles in the body. Our tongue is so important to us why would we want to potentially cause damage to it? I am not criticising at all, I just am really intrigued.
I also feel the same about nipple piercing, especially in women who are likely to want to breast feed at some time in their lives.
I didn't say it was a nice answer.
You must know by now, having properly considered all the pros and cons, whether you are going to make a hole in your body where there shouldn't be one.
Here's another thought for you. Remembrance day has recently commemorated the sacrifice that millions of people made in order that we should be free. Some of those people were tortured in prison camps by having their bodies pierced with various instruments. So people died in agony having their bodies pierced so that you could choose to have it done just for fun.
It's your choice.
Hey i had my tongue pierced in september last year. It didn't hurt AT ALL. You can feel it going through but there is absolutely no pain. I have a major phobia of injections and needles but this, for some reason did not bother me at all. I have never had any problems with it since then, but it is essential that the piercer checks your tongue for viens and arteries being in the centre of your tongue, as if any of these are pierced, you can bleed to death!
The swelling (my tongue was in inch and a half thick) went down after 2days and the only side effect was slight lisping until the swelling subsided. I didn't need any time off work for this.
I could still eat normal foods and in fact went out for a pizza that night. Just be careful that you dont turn the bar sideways in your mouth and bite it accidentally as this hurts a lot. (this only really happens when your eating and before the swelling starts) My friend was more worried for me than I was!
I do know that you can't give blood for at least a year after having it pierced though. And to stop the metal ruining the enamel on your teeth, you can screw a plastic ball on top, or one that is metal with plastic on it.
Just a tip for buying bars, avoid the plastic cheap ones, they may look attractive but they do break very easily, make sure they have metal on the screw part.
Good luck with yours, i hope you have as much fun as i have had with mine!xx
