richard has covered the main food things
cholesterol tends to go hand in hand with heart problems/stroke etc (and don't forget they are all the same thing - lumps of stuff that block your arteries and kill the surrounding tissue
don't forget about stopping smoking
and a small glass of red wine a day is supposed to be good for you (my specialist "ordered" me to hit the bottle)
some things hinder - or amplify drugs as well
brassicas (brussels etc), grapefruit will hinder your cholesterol tabs
garlic, cranberries alcohol etc amplify the effects of warfarin
if you're just wondering google and the NHS site are good
if you've had a chest tightener - you should have had a session with the pharmacist and dietitian to tell you what's relevant to you
and angina is more likely to hit when it's cool/cold, damp and windy
