Low lites, or high lites

Hi, i have a lot of grey hair coming through now as im getting on the old side ( 44 ) and i need to know what the difference is between low lites and high lites, and which would be best for me to cover up the grey. Thanks.

Highlights lighten and brighten the hair, while a lowlight darkens and deepens it. Blonde, gold and chamomile tones are used for highlights; reds, plums and aubergine shades for lowlights. Usually, two or three colours are used throughout the hair. You shouldn't go more than three or four shades lighter or darker than your natural haircolour as the results will be too harsh and unnatural. So your natural colour will probably determine whether highlights or lowlights are best for you.

By the way 44 isn't old! :o)
