Eye Problem
13 Answers
My poor neighbour John is 76 and has a problem with itchy eyes. Not the actual eye, but underneath (the eye bag area). They are really swollen and sore. The GP did give him some cream and said it was an allergy to his rimless glasses that are relatively new and also a form of dermatitis. He changed his glasses and the cream seemed to do the trick. Unfortunately now the problem has returned. Someone said he may need a titanium framed glasses.
Has anybody else had this problem. I gave him some cucumber this after to put on his eyes to try and give him some relief.

I think lenses are plastic, arn't they ? He has been putting E45 cream on his face and under his eyes, which I said was'nt a good idea, as the skin under the eyes is very thin and fragile and I think E45 may be too harsh.
The polycarbonate lenses use in rimless glasses are a common polycarbonate used in a variety of everyday products and surely the glasses where fitting so they weren't touching the bags under his eyes. If they were they would be sat at a funny angle and could simply be adjusted so as not to touch his skin.
This obviously could be a form of contact dermatitis or he may have a form of blepharitis.
